A woman indicted with harassing Kate McCann allegedly deposited her a recorded message which posed: "what if I am Madeleine?"

Madeleine McCann's disappearance has never been resolved

On Monday, the tribunal learned phone records and evidence recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most publicized child disappearance cases and is still open.

'I Don't Want Money'

Another voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a small chance that I'm her? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," she added.

The tribunal was advised that through electronic messages, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a attempt to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with law enforcement who gathered the information, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with family friends of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On that date, the father picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my point."

Kate and Gerry McCann gave evidence to the court from behind a protective barrier on Wednesday

The court learned the co-defendant struck up a connection online with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had contacted via messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be taken seriously in the time leading up to the appearance to Rothley, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court was told message exchanges between the two individuals, in that autumn, considering trying to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We must make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their residence, Mrs Spragg transmitted a text which expressed: "We are positioned outside the McCanns' residence with our lights out similar to private investigators. I had hoped to do this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
