Barça Ready for First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
