The former president's Family Member Gets Expert Tips from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
This young athlete boasts considerable online following
The young golfer can count on multiple well-known cheerleaders as she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns several international courses and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.
She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in only three events this year and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He is the best player in the world," Kai expressed.
"And he's an even better individual. He suggested me to play, relax, following the flow."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, such as second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to new audiences, particularly among the next generation.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
